Mission Statement
American Charities for Palestine (ACP) marshals the expertise of the American private sector and the generous spirit of the American people to promote the development of the health and education sectors in Palestine; sectors fundamental to the creation of a viable and prosperous Palestinian state, living in dignity, and secure in its ability to contribute to worldwide peace.
Our approach will be based on cooperative relationships. These relationships are comprised of two kinds of strategic alliances: twinning or cross-sector partnerships. Twinning is a strategic alliance between a US based institution and a Palestinian institution. Cross sector partnerships are strategic alliances between partners that represent different elements of society. In all cases, whether through twinning or through a cross-sector partnership, the result is to:
- Improve the education and health of Palestinian citizens.
- Develop local expertise to provide sustainability to initiatives.
- Engage in partnerships that meet the interests of all partners and lead to the sustainable development of Palestine.
ACP acts as prudent fiduciary of the American people’s resources and expertise. Inherent to our Mission is the maintenance of a formal partnership with the government of the United States of America, to ensure that all support and expertise provided to Palestinian civil society has been thoroughly vetted, and is provided in strict coordination with, and adherence to, U.S. government guidelines.

"Of course, we applaud Ziad for establishing the American Charities for Palestine. This initiative will harness and unleash the generosity of the Palestinian-American community to improve the lives of the Palestinian people. By channeling greatly needed assistance to promising projects in the West Bank, American Charities for Palestine will support important work already being done on the ground by the United States Agency for International Development and the State Department. I encourage each and every one of you here tonight to evaluate what you can do and how you can help."
