On August 1, 2008 the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with American Charities for Palestine (ACP) initiating a partnership to help harness the generosity of the American people to help meet Palestinian humanitarian needs. USAID Administrator Henrietta H. Fore, who presided over the ceremony, described this achievement as “historic” and “the first of its kind.” |

On April 30, 2010 the Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the American Charities for Palestine (ACP) begining a strategic parnership aimed at developing the health systems capacity of the Palestinian Authority. Prime Minister Fayyad said that the arrangement "sets the stage for the development of a sustainable Palestinian medical education sector." |
"ACP, a U.S. non-profit organization, raises funds from the American charitable sector and donor communities and transfers these funds to USAID in order to finance specific projects in health care and education that USAID is administering in the Palestinian Territories."
