Project Overview
ACP facilitated the delivery of $50,000 to build networks and capacities among Palestinian youth using new technologies. This effort was conducted in partnership with a local organization in the West Bank, Palestine Vision, to support a specific project called the Mediterranean Youth Technology Club (MYTecC) as part of ACP's broader effort to improve the education sector of the West Bank and bring it up to a Western standard. Project funders include Cisco and USAID.
ACP coordinated with Craig Newmark, of Craigslist and CraigConnect, as well as the Aspen Institute, by providing a vetted and accountable mechanism through which Mr. Newmark could make a $ 50,000 private donation to the MYTecC project, and its implementer Palestine Vision.
MYTecC facilitates the creation of human networks that support and enhance dialogue and web2.0-based exchanges among youth from Morocco, Egypt, Yemen, the Palestinian Territories, Jordan, Israel, and Turkey. Through this network, young people learn and communicate collaboratively, express themselves through various Internet tools and build bridges to their peers from different cultures.
MYTecC allows young people to leverage new technologies for their educational and professional needs and advancement; It utilizes the potential of technological innovation to enhance the way students and youth learn, interact and collaborate, allowing them to build a culture of tolerance, solidarity, mutual understanding and respect, while simultaneously promoting the principles of social responsibility and the spirit of volunteerism.
ACP is proud to support this important and promising program. More information will be provided as the project progresses and expands.

"To this end, the example of American Charities for Palestine (ACP), is illustrative. ACP works with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and other groups to improve the lives of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza."
